Murnong
Perennial herb with tuberous roots and slender, lanceolate, radical leaves, 4-30 cm long. Bright yellow flower heads, 3 cm in diameter, held on stems 20-40 cm, not unlike a large dandelion.

This plant was a staple food of the Aboriginal people of south-eastern Australia. Murnong tubers were sometimes eaten raw but usually cooked in baskets.
