Born at Adelaide, SA, 17 November 1949.
Both of his tertiary degrees were obtained at the A.N.U., Canberra.
Dr Moran joined the Division of Forest Research (now the Division. of Forestry) CSIRO in 1976 as a Research Scientist. His interests are indicated by the organisations to which he belongs – Genetics Society of Australia, Genetics Society of America and the Society for the Study of Evolution.
